As a Scout Group, we rely on fundraising to support the exciting programme of activities we offer our young people — everything from camps and weekly activities, to paying the ever-increasing electricity bill.

All the leaders and other adult members of 1st Kirton Scouts are unpaid volunteers.

To keep costs affordable and ensure all young people can participate fully, we ask all parents and carers to actively support our fundraising efforts.

Why Fundraising Matters

Fundraising helps us:

  • Keep subscription fees low
  • Subsidise activities and camps
  • Maintain and improve our facilities
  • Provide equipment and resources for all sections

What We Ask of You

We ask that all families actively participate in the group’s fundraising. There are many ways to get involved, for example joining our Committee and helping to organise events, or volunteering to help during fundraising activities (e.g. running refreshments stalls, delivering fliers, or helping set-up).

Annual General Meeting

Please attend this sociable opportunity to hear about what the various sections have been doing over the last year, and to have a say in how the Scout Group and its Committee are run over the next 12 months,. After the meeting there is an opportunity to chat to the leaders, committee members, and other parents and carers over tea, coffee and cake.
